How we do it
OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
At SVH Group, we’re proud to be a Michigan Great Printer. And what that means is we’re a printer who voluntarily works to minimize impacts on human health and the environment while producing a quality printed product for the customer. As part of the Great Printers Project, a cooperative effort to make pollution prevention a standard practice in the lithographic printing industry, SVH is committed to protecting our natural resources and exploring new ways to prevent pollution.

Some of the ways in which we protect the environment:
• Since SVH Group uses direct-to-plate technology, there are no messy chemicals or emissions of which to dispose.
• A majority of the paper stock we use is either 100% recycled or a percentage thereof.
• We use vegetable-based inks and alcohol-free solutions.
• We recycle almost all stock used in our production facility.

In the past six months:
• SVH has recycled 3,072,356 lbs. of paper.
• By recycling this amount of paper during 2005 SVH saved:
2,368 trees;
975,030 gallons of water; more than
418 cubic yards of landfill space; and kept more than
8,357 pounds of air pollution effluents out of the air.
