SVH Continues long tradition of recycling

For over 30 years now we have made a commitment to recycling paper, paperboard, and excess inks. Whenever we die cut a carton, or trim off waste on a sheet we send the excess scraps through a vacuum system that is loaded and taken to be recycled. So far in 2004 we have recycled enough paper to have saved 13,744 trees, 5,659,458 gallons of water, more than 2,425 cubic yards of landfill space, and kept more than 48,510 pounds of air pollution out of the air.

New Kodak Approval with PMS proofing system

We have just installed a new proofing system the Kodak NX Approval system. We now have the ability to accurately proof PMS and metallic colors. Duotones, Tritones, and overprints can now be represented as they will print. In addition to this we can produce the proof on the stock it will be printing on. From 33# Offset to .024pt board, proofs can be produced and then cut, folded and glued to look like actual production samples. For many years we have had to explain that the printed piece will not really look like this proof or it is difficult to predict how this duotone will look on press. Now not only can we show the correct PMS color but the proof can be cut, scored and assembled.

SVH Group expands it's printing capabilities again!

In a fourth expansion of press capabilities in two years, SVH Group added
another 7-unit Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 CP2004. This latest 40-inch press is the first installation of its kind in the U.S. The official release
date for this new design is in May at the drupa Print Show in Germany. This press complements the other 38 Heidelberg units already in operation at SVH.
While designed for high-end packaging and commercial printing, this press
prints with accuracy and resolution to complement SVH clear-screen, stochastic, and hexachrome digital workflows.
